I don't think anyoone here is going to recommend an alienware laptop honesty. Yes it will play your games and look pretty, if that's all you want and you don't CARE that you're paying so much then it'll work for you. (I reserve the right to silently judge)

On the other hand if you want something for similar pricing with BETTER performance, look around for some other laptops like a good ASUS G series or the MSI gaming laptops. It's just more sensible.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

I'd get something from Origin: http://www.originpc.com

Or find a nice Clevo/Sager. Hell MSI has some nice ones as well.

The only thing Alienware has going for it, is "pretty lights".

Looking around at custom laptops and al;l that stuff, there are a LOT of people using the MSI base units and slightly changing components :P

Even something like this, would be nice. Medium GPU, quad core CPU, SSD and 500GB for storage? The only thing I don't like is Windows 8, but that's just personal preference.

There you go, perfect then. Same on the CPU side, better GPU, Win 7, bit cheaper.

Ok so will an alienware m18 be able to run games like minecraft and dungeon defenders on high settings.

A potato can run Minecraft and I can't imagine it won't run Dungeon Defender.
