Greetings :)

I am currently planning out my future loop that I hope to have done by year end. (funds are a little tight since I will be getting a new case)

I know that I want a 360mm radiator to start with and that I will be adding a 240mm when I add my GPU to the loop. My question is:

Which 360mm radiator do you guys recommend ?

I was considering going EK XE360 or HWL GTR360/SR2 360 but I am really not sure who is the best. With regards to fans, what do you guys think of the Silent Wings 3 and Parvum F1.0s (based on the Wing Boost 2)

Any suggestions on fans/rads would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

SW3 is suuuuuuper quiet but Parvum seems cheaper. haven't tried their fans but try some research

I am struggling to find decent fan reviews, especially on the Parvum fans.

I know they are a clone of the WB2, but I don't know if any specs have changed. $10 price difference when importing at 14 to the $ is a big difference, but I don't want to sacrifice performance.

For a silent oriented radiator and fan setup the SR2 would be a better option as it has a lower FPI making it less restrictive for the fans. As for 120mm fans the silent wings 3 they are a good pressure oriented fan, some other options which are also good are the Fractal Design Venturi's are a really good option while not being too expensive.

Do you think that the SW3 would work on a higher resistance rad like the GTR ?

Will check out the Venturi's now :)

I wouldn't get a 60mm rad its a waste unless you planning on running you fans at higher RPMs.  also these thicker fans tend to have some major market bullshit attched to them, they say they are 60mm thick, but that's actually the housing around the rad, there's a large gap between the housing and the rad core, if you subtract the housing the rad core is really like 10-15mm thinner (so your paying for 60mm but really getting 45-50mm rad).  The rad length trumps rad thickness every time.

They are a good pressure optimized fan so yes but it may require a higher RPM for it to be as effective due to the extra restriction, however with that it has more potential cooling performance.

I was considering running 1500rpm fans with around 2-3mm h2o, so the extra thickness would be utilized.

Which 360mm Rad would you recommend ?  (I am attempting to get a stable 5Ghz stable on my CPU and 1550-1600mhz on my 980Ti)

If quiet isn't your main goal then buying a thick rad will give you better temps, but also take into account that the temps of your cpu/gpu don't effect its stability much, that's more based on the silicon and the voltage your using.  Your chip can only go so far no matter the voltage you throw at it so a thicker rad running higher rpm fans might not even help you.

If your planning on running at 1500RPM or higher the GTR would be a good option then though a bit noisier, personally I run low FPI rads with fans never going higher than 1000RPM so the higher FPI or double folder fins would not be of much benefit.

I do the same, I have medium density rads running roughly 600prm-900rpm.

Well I don't want to sit next to a wind tunnel, just tested my H110i at 30cm (not in a case) 1300rpm is perfect, doesn't bother me at all. 1500 is bearable but I would not want it at that all the time.

Not sure how that noise compares to the SW3 fans and the GTR rad, but I am starting to think that maybe the SR2 is a better fit.

Even Noctua fans which are very quiet are loud when you start going higher then 900-1000rpm.  You add that to a Thick dense finned rad and its going to be worse as you'll get the noise from the air bouncing off the rad fins too.  Obviously your "bearable" thought on sound is different from mine, cuz with the corsair fans at over 1000 rpm was unbearable to me.  I've never used the bequiet fans for I can't really comment on them.

I run noctuas at 1k on my low fpi fans. Can barely hear them.
I hate high fpi rads with any fan I have. If I ever get an ek rad again its not gonna be the pe series, except for 140mm stuff. Id get the thick rad and pretty much any fan.

Only thing I can hear in my rig is the dam psu. 6 2k noctua all at 900-1000.

What is considered medium density rads ? (sorry if that sounds noobish)

Hard to really say but I'd think of it as low fpi rads like below 10 fpi would be low density, then into the teens would be medium and then over 20 would start to get into the high density.  Kinda a rough estimate but that's how I'd put it.
