fx 4300 4.6ghz?

Is it safe to overclock an fx 4300 to 4.6ghz with stock voltage?.in case you're wondering im using a hyper 212 evo and an asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard.

If the temps are low and the oc is stable then why not

Look up the MOBO model number and all the parts in your PC to see if there overclock compatible.

Hard to be unsafe with stock voltages, but what you don't want is a machine that seems stable, but makes mistakes. You can very quickly end up with a machine that corrupts data and writes it back to disc. My quick research a few days ago says that 1.5v is the max safe voltage for the FX chips, but I have a 6300 at 4.8, at just over 1.45v.

 

I'd guess that a 4300, having less cores, will require a lower voltage to get the same overclock assuming you got good silicon.

its good to go 1.5v for 4.6Ghz  but 1.45 shouáld be enough .. done some testing .. if u find good stability u can drive at 4.6Ghz with good cooling all time
