So I finally decided to upgrade. I'm looking for a 1440 monitor 24"-27". I just really need the real estate for multitasking. However I do game occasionally but I don't mind doing it at 1080 @120mhz. I also just heard about gsync monitors. Are they out? Does anyone have any recommendations for my needs?

120mhz? I assume you mean hz.

And no, no G-sync monitors are out yet

Are you asking for recommendations on what monitor to get?

i have never seen a 1440p monitor with a TN panel. Thus no 120hz. However a lot of korean monitors can overclock to 100hz or so, it is all luck when it comes to that though.

So I'm basically down to an ips monitor at 60 hz if I want 1440 huh?

What are my other options besides the dell? I don't mind off brands just as long as they have a good reputation from the community.

You can choose between 1440p monitors like the dell U2713HM and the asus pb287q or you can get like me a korean 1440p for like 300$.

USD

The Asus PB278Q is a very good monitor if you're willing to pay a bit more. It is around $50 over your budget.

Yeah, I just looked. I could afford it but I wonder if they have it in a smaller size.

27" is the smallest 1440P monitor size for now.

Thanks all. I have all the info I needed and can now can make an informed decision.

I would stay away from the Asus PB278Q and go with the Dell, they are usually built better and don't have as many problems with dead pixels if you decide to go with a 1440p monitor

Crap! What about good non-ips monitors 1440 @ 120? If I can save a few by getting a 24" instead of 27", I would prefer that.

dude trust me u need to try IPS monitors. its alot better then TN.

do you even have the graphics hardware to game at 120hz? if not then you really shouldnt care cause you are not using it to its full potential
