Prema'd 1060

I was wondering if any of you here have prema mod on your current notebook and how well they OC and undervolt, I'm looking to get around 2k mhz on it if I can.

This is going to be pre-installed by Xotic Pc so I don't have to worry about anything.

I'm a balls to the wall kind on guy, and I know that the cooling is capable of it, and even more so because Xotic does a free application on IC Diamond on cpu+gpu.

@Pendragon Talk to the almighty lord of things and laptops. His divine grace is whom you need to speak to aboot these things.

 

I'd recommend getting the laptop from HiDevolution though, since they apply the Coollaboratory Ultra option for $30 and it's infinitely better than IC Diamond, plus they automatically go with a Prema bios mod too.

It will also cost an extra $100 that I wouldn't want to spend on the configuration that I want (16gb ram, OS, 256gb ssd)

Edit: IMHO 5 degrees C won't make much of a difference when the temps are gonna be 75 cpu 70 gpu.

Well for the 100$ you get really good support and it will be more than a 5c difference and the lower the temps are, the longer it should last you.

Xotic has very good support as well, been talking to one of the reps for about a month on and off and he has provided any information that I could ever want. 

Not to mention that I'm already spending $1500 and the extra $100 won't be well spent on something like that when I could just repaste it myself if I wanted.

well lucky you prema has listed them as a partner, but I think you need to ask a rep. Also you talk like you expect someone else to undervolt and OC

I've been talking to one of the reps and prema is offered on their own clevo rebrands, and I would have thought that maybe one person would have a similar situation to me where they have a prema'd 1060. Also do you think 2k mhz is too far off? I figure it will reach at least 1750 on boost alone. I'm sure @Pendragon would know something, him and D2 are the laptop gods.

2k isn't far off if you're Prema. You can probably hit 2k stable. http://hwbot.org/submission/3425786_ these are some of Prema's scores. Also you can't undervolt. You need overvolt LOL.

the brick is 230w no? it's either 180w or 230w. And it might not at super high clocks. either way it'll be fine. you need to wait for the p series prema bios to be released. here are some of the other benches prema has done

I could have sworn that it was 200w, maybe I'm wrong, what is gonna be so different about the p series bios though?

nothing. it's the bios for your laptop...currently only the P870 series, last gen maxwell and the MSI 16L13 custom fox has it.

From the description on Xotic, the prema bios is already preinstallled and I won't have to do anything to it correct me if I'm wrong though.

oh then its out. ask them. they either preinstall or remote flash it. just post your bios options and we'll know if you have it or not.

Oh I don't actually have the laptop yet, still waiting for taxes XD. I prob won't have it for another month so this is just all questions I had before I buy. I don't want another regrettable purchase like my current G751.

The 965m model that I got had a slow ass hdd, no 75hz g-sync, and it has had sleep mode problems that have confused even the most experienced reps. It has frustrated me to the point of me never buying asus again.
