Hey guys,

quick question... well let me explain where I am coming from first :)
The 780ti is just out but in the 780ti range atm there is only a 780ti and 780ti superclocked.

So my understanding was that the EVGA cards were tested (which is the current card I have, the 670 FTW) and the FTW ones are the cards that are on the higher end scale of the cards in their range, so the 670 could be close to a 660 in performance or could be close to a 680 in performance but the 670 FTW cards are in the higher end of of the 670 cards. Now the 780ti does not have a FTW atm and only has Superclocked...

So my understanding was that the Superclocked cards are the same, they are tested and if they are not in the higher percentile then they dont qualify for superclocked and are put back in with the normal cards. Is this correct?

I was just reading something a while ago and it has me in doubt now

As I am building a PC for a friend and we are wondering should he be spending more money on the 780ti superclocked or should we just save the extra cash as I'll be overclocking the card for him regardless

I assume they are slightly better seeing as they are able to hold higher base clocks, wait for a classified version of the 780 Ti, or better yet maybe some souped up version of the 780 Ti Black Edition.

Have to build the PC before the Holidays and I rang EVGA and while the guys are not being told if/when there will be a classified/black ed version they dont think it will be this side of Christmas :/

Well I am hoping that EVGA have explained the difference at some point but EVGA customer service could not give me a definitive answer as he did not know really and there was no specific info like that on his database and I have not found any kind of explanation on their website that confirms or denies any of this...

I believe that I'm correct, check this thread out http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/71414-battlefield-4-gtx-660-ti-sli-benchmark-updated/ look at how limited of a clock the PNY 660 Ti's can achieve compared to mine.
