Sigh, Any alternatvies you can think off? What about the dell inspiron 15?

The inspiron 15 has a shitty TN screen, you could look at the Y520, the little brother of the Y720, from what I have seen then it runs pretty cool, but the shell is mainly plastic which isn't really a huge problem, it just doesn't feel as nice

I had a look at the y520 before and I have to say it isn't really the right one for me. Ideally I wanted something as nice as the dell xps, and I could only find the inspiron 15 that was close enough

well, the new inspiron 15 has such a shitty screen.

I am guessing it is the 7567 that you are talking about because it is the only one that has pascal and a quad core

Yeah I don't know what to do about the screen, I read so many reviews and watched so many videos, some people say the screen is bad, some say it's good if you came from an okay screen and so on, so it's a really hard choice :(

Is the pascal version the new 10 series cards or the 9 series? And yes it's a quad core, I think it's 6th gen i7-6700hq

well that just leaves you with the VX15, it is not as bad as the older nitro's but it isn't great, but it gives you a IPS screen option.

I've been looking at the acer nitro v15 and it's caught my attention. I tried to look for the v15 version with an i7 but I can only find the 17inch v17 model, so what's up with that? Does the uk not have the 15inch model with an i7? Does anyone know?

yea avoid the nitros for life. the acer vx15 is fine.

pick this up and spec it how you want. https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/optimusVIII-15/

It's the gigabyte sabre 15 aka the Clevo N850HK1.

Get your own system (oem or pirate, but paying retail is stupid, oem keys for 30 pounds work great)

Always compare whether getting it on the configurator is more expensive than buying it off like Amazon UK or other hardware websites.

Get rid of all the other random softwares and just make sure you go down that list and take off all the junk. aka the 92 pound windows system that you can get for 30 from Kinguin or something.

God damn it, $160 tax just to buy that gigabyte laptop. I hate the way uk electronics are so over priced! But i'm surprised everyone on here doesn't like the acer nitro, when I watched reviews of it no one had any issues with it. While the acer vx15 looks nice spec wise, I can't really go for it because of it's looks :( And the gigabyte laptop, they aren't really known here very much at all. I worked at a pc shop for 2 years, only had maybe 15 customers with gigabyte laptops so I'm a bit weary of them :(

Those are not gigabyte laptops. The link I gave you is a Clevo laptop. Gigabyte just bought from Clevo and rebranded them. Also Clevo is very big in the gaming laptop scene. Basically ever single gaming laptop that is not from a tier 1 manufacturer is from Clevo. All the XMG, Cyberpower, Origin etc etc. All the well known pre-built PC makers use Clevos for their laptops.

The PCSpecialist Optimus VIII I think is a good choice. Some configuration advice, if you go for that one:

- Pick the GTX 1050 Ti upgrade if you can. That'll affect games the most. i5+1050Ti > i7+1050, for most games.

- 8GB RAM is probably a good minimum. But compare RAM upgrade prices with the cost of doing it yourself.

- Same for HDD/SSD options.
