Programs Keep Freezing While Downloading...

I don't know if this is the proper area in this forum for this question. Whenever I try to download a file over about 100mb, whatever program that I use freezes. The main program that has been freezing for me has been steam for downloading games. What makes me think that this is a network problem and not a steam problem is that I tried downloading uPlay and it did the same thing. I have already gone through the process of steam support and everything the have told me to do has not worked.

Has anyone else had this problem with Xfinity?

You probably have a bad hdd. Do a smart test with crystal disk info or a full disk scan with badblocks or hdtume.

Thank you very much for your help. I downloaded hdtune and found out that there was a problem with the connection between my Mobo and my HD. Turns out the SATA connector on my HD was bad.
