so i wanted to create a simple little pc for if a friend comes by that we can play together so i gathered around some basic parts from old prebuilds and my old pc and these are the parts

CPU: Core 2 Duo e6550

Motherboard:ASUS P5B

Ram: 4GB

GPU: GT610

PSU: the sticker is gone so i really dont know

HDD: just a 70gb samsung

so now the problem

the pc starts up in the bios no problem and i can select a usb drive in the F8 menu

but when windows or the windows install is loading for about 10seconds and it freezes the animation and i have to pull the power cord out to shut it down

i have tried Windows XP,vista,7,8,10 with no luck at all

startup repair also freezes

all the parts are tested in other pcs of friends and my older parts and they all work

it seems like in this combination that its broken

iam also unable to flash a bios update it just cant see my usb sd card,cd,even a floppy drive :|

iam currently trying if a linux install is able to boot up

now some pictures of where it freezes

I have the same problem and I’m still looking for an answer, this thread is old so maybe you found the answer. My PC starts normally and when the small dots of the loading circle appears, it freezes. Sometime it says « Preparing automatic repair » but it freezes anyway. My PC was working fine few hours before I decide to remove some dust with an air duster thing, than after that happened, so maybe it has to do with that.
