Budget pc?

xDylanio

Well with the new components that i've seen, I'm looking to see if I should get my sister a pc. This is a budget pc so my budget would be probably $500. But if something is better but a few $100 more than just add it. Overall i'd think the budget is $1k but I feel like I want the extra money for peripherals. Also make it with a theme, preferably pink or white.

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

500, but if you need to go over it, to get a better part, then you have $500 more to waste

you should upgrade the i3 tp an i5, the RX 480 isn't quite as good as a 1060, but from the sounds of it, the sister in question won't need even the power of a RX 480. What is the point in that cooler, there is cheaper ones that are better, I mean you can't overclock that i3 so a stock would do. There is cheaper Motherboards which are just as good. Apart from that that isn't a bad list (sorry if I come off a tad mean by pointing the problems with the list)

The owner of "too many" computers, called

The Lord of all Toasters (1920X 1080ti 32GB)

The Toasted Controller (i5 4670, R9 380, 24GB)

The Semi Portable Toastie machine (i7 3612QM (was an i3) intel HD 4000 16GB)'

Bread and Butter Pudding (i7 7700HQ, 1050ti, 16GB)

Pinoutbutter Sandwhich (raspberry pi 3 B)

The Portable Slice of Bread (N270, HAHAHA, 2GB)

Muffinator (C2D E6600, Geforce 8400, 6GB, 8X2TB HDD)

Toastbuster (WIP, should be cool)

loaf and let dough (A printer that doesn't print black ink)

The Cheese Toastie (C2D (of some sort), GTX 760, 3GB, win XP gaming machine)

The Toaster (C2D, intel HD, 4GB, 2X1TB NAS)

windybread (4X E5470, intel HD, 32GB ECC) (use coming soon, maybe)

And more, several more

that is true, but the i5 doesn't effect the theme, there will be cheaper white CPU coolers, and there will be a white RX 480 or a card that will fit in as well

Thats what i wanted, it's not about my sister using the all of the cpu power, but just having it is great. Because if she does decide to get demanding games, I'm not going to upgrade it again.

that's alright (I am shit with themes) but yea I would say DroidBot's list is probably about as good are you'll get horses wise, that also being said a 1060 does have a couple more if you really want it. and yea, in the end it's your choice, it was a I was making sure you get all the horses you can afford for your budget, as no one likes the feeling when you realise you could of got a lot more for you money if you researched it a bit more. That also being said, wait for ZEN, it's about a month away now, meaning you might be able to afford a bit more power, probably not too much

I mean... the whole list he put tbh isn't that good. The i3 is fine, and the 480 is on par with the 1060 and if you look at my previous monitor, fuck the 1060 when you can get a 75Hz Freesync IPS 1080p monitor for $115.

Flaws I seen with it are

-The 1060 is overpriced. Just go with a 480 at that point since they are MUCH Cheaper.

-PSU is meh, just go with the better EVGA G2 650w that is cheaper and better.

-Case is meh, Phanteks P400s would of been a better choice and offers some better offers.

well.. basically this

You can always add a CPU cooler later, if you need a white one/want one or whatever, you could technically paint most of the stock intel heat sink white except the fins of the fan. An SSD would be nice but would push it to $800.. My suggestion is low end ADATA or Crucial SSDs.

The case I picked doesn't have a side panel, but if you're good with upgrading it so be it.

everything I picked is white (please don't name the machine 'WHITE POWER') and it's generally balanced. use the monitor DarkBlade suggested above.

idk
