It isn't said that you hit 5ghz, you can be lucky or not. For extended usage I'd stay below 1.3-1.35 Volts, and temps should stay under gaming load under 80°C (though the CPU is rated for 100°C). You don't need linux or anything else. Everything that has to do with oc the cpu is handled through the uefi of the board. I recommend watching some tutorials before starting to mess around.
