Recommendations for a Custom Loop

I have a few questions,

1.Hard or Soft? I have never built a loop before.

2. What parts should I get for a cheaper loop? I am thinking about an all EK system with one single 240 or 280 rad and a res/pump combo. (my GPU doesn't have a full block so should I get Thermosphere or Supremacy VGA?)

No, either save up $400+ for a good quality loop or don't do a custom loop at all.

If you want cheap then buy an AIO.

I want the performance and looks of a loop for like max 350 CAD

save up more, if you don't get a good quality loop it will bite you back.

Then keep saving, or buy an AIO or air cooler.

Clearly you need to do more research on watercooling if you think just doing all EK is the best option.

You probably don't want your loop to leak and kill all your PC components if you only have $350 CAD, so again, you need to do more research.

I would suggest checking out singularitycomputers on youtube, he has some old tutorial videos that are quite good, and tons of build logs.

Using all EK would ensure compatibility.

..........no.

omg

Please, don't destroy your PC, go learn about how watercooling works.

So after checking NCIX canada prices, a good hardline loop would go for like 450ish CAD. I could also make a soft loop for a lot less.

I could just get the S240 kit, some ek hdc fittings, PETG tubing, and a VGA supremacy for 385

But the fittings are bad, the pump is crap, the tubing requires glycerol free fluid, the VGA block does not cool the vram or VRMs, and the 240 rad is barely enough for a CPU and a GPU.

Seriously, you have to do way more research before building a watercooling loop.

I recommended you go watch singularitycomputers and learn about watercooling in other places instead of killing your components due to inexperience.

You don't learn how to build a loop by making a post on a forum asking "what do I need"

The fittings are normal fittings, the pump is OK, the tubing is quality DuraClear tubing, and all I need is some good clocks on my GPU to improve performance in Star Wars Battlefront at 1440p.

Most of my research has been from googling, and watching LTT and Jayztwocents.

Well keep at it, and use other sources too because LTT and jayztwocents are pretty mediocre at liquid cooling. There are many people with way more experience.

Maybe in a few months you will have more experience, and also more money, to build a loop.
