I5 7600k

I was thinking about buying an i5 7600k to update my pc build. Right now I have a amd fx 6300 and a amd r9 390 gpu. I had a power outage about 2-3 weeks ago and now my pc will not turn on I checked my power supply and it still works. I think my motherboard is fried not sure. I want to get an i5 6700k and keep my gpu or wait till ryzen. My question is do you think my gpu will bottleneck the i5 or ryzen (if I wait that long)? Thank you for your input.

I'd wait a couple more weeks until Ryzen is announced if you can. They're going to release some interesting 4core/8thread cpus.

I would honestly wait another month until the Ryzen information starts becoming public and not speculation. It should be launching first week of March if I remember. Then after you see the reviews from sources like LTT, Jayz2cents, Bitwit, Paulshardware etc.. then you can make a true, informed decision on which will be the way to go.

wait for ryzen, even if ryzen doesn't suit your taste don't get an unlocked i5 they aren't worth the OC'ing costs, go with the locked i7 you will have better performance for your dollar.
