The 1050 Ti is actually pretty close to GTX 770 or GTX 960 levels. So it'll net you high and/or maxed settings in lighter games like Overwatch, but for newer games like Doom you'll see some dips below 60 fps if you use the higher settings. That said, Doom still gets an average of 60 fps overall when set to Ultra on a 1050 Ti according to tech-YouTuber benchmark videos.

Basically, the 1050 Ti is a 1080p budget card that'll net you high settings with close to 60 fps in many games. It won't completely crush and max nearly every game at 1080p like a 1060 will, but you'll get decent settings and decent framerates. Some AAA games will need medium settings to hit that 60 fps mark.

The i7-7700HQ processor in that laptop is absolutely solid. You shouldn't see CPU bottlenecking anywhere.

But since you said this whole package costs around $1350 USD, I can't say I recommend it unless prices like this are your only option. I can't recommend it because you could find laptops with 1050 Ti's in them for around $500 USD less. I've got no idea what your options are, though, so that decision has to be up to you.

Hi,

I wanted to know if this is a good gaming laptop.

I live in Korea so this may be a region only laptop.

Model: MSI gaming GP62-7RD Leopard Ultimate

http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/Item/DetailView/Item.aspx?goodscode=901024434 ( The page is mostly in Korean, so If you want to translate let me know. And I will do my best)

CPU: I7 7700HQ

Display: 15.6 inch FHD(1920x1080), IPS-level

Chips set: Intel HM175

Graphics: Gtx 1050 2gb, ( but I selected the GTX 1050ti ( I am a little skeptical about this part as I have never heard of a ti with a mobile, but then again I am a noob when it comes to notebooks)

Memory:  DDR4-2400, 2 slots,8GB( 1x 8gb, with a max of 32gb)

Storage: 1TB SATA 7200rpm 2.5"HDD

Webcam: HD type (30FPS@720p)

Keyboard: backlight keyboard(single color, white)

Lan: Killer GB LAN, 802.11 AC wi-fi +bluetooth v4.2

Audio: 4x 2W Speaker

Audio Jack:  1x mic-in, 1x headphone out (SPDIF)

I/O: 1x Type C usb3.0

       2x Type A USB3.0

       1x Type A USB 2.0

       1x RJ45

       1x SD(XC/HC)

       1x (4K@30hz) HDMI

       1x Mini_DisplayPort

Battery: 6 Cell, 41Whr

AC Adapter: 150W adapter

The one I am looking at has a NVMe M2 SSD 256GB

This will cost 1,349,000won or about $1350

I was initially looking for a budget gaming laptop... But now I am looking for future proof for at least 2-3 years.

Nah, it's normal

Depends on what games you play and what settings you can deal with, but it should easily handle most titles at medium for a while

Well, I don't play battlefield! I like RPG( like the latest Tomb raider) and a little FPS ( something that has a story to it like Black ops( but this is very seldom) with a little racing.

Yup, medium settings will last you some time. 1050 (be it TI or not) isn't really like top of the line GPU to begin with. You laptop screen size might be small but it's still running at 1080p.

It doen't seem like that is available where I stay... But thanks! Perhaps I can ship it to my aunt in the states and ask her to ship it to me...

Something to think about...

So thanks again!!

Don't buy the Dell Inspiron 7567. The specs look nice on paper but I don't recommend this one, due to very poor display quality.

I think the two most important things to look for in a laptop are: good GPU (for gaming), and good display (in general), since those are the two things you'll notice the most difference from.

I would recommend the Eluktronics Clevo N850HK1. It offers the GTX 1050 Ti alongside a particularly nice 1920x1080 IPS display (a 72% gamut one instead of a 45% gamut one).  EDIT: Model I linked as the $899 1080p+1TB model which is sold out. Currently redirects to the 4K model, which uses a PenTile not-true-4K display. I would recommend waiting until the 1080p+1TB model comes back in stock.
