Best core i5

Just wandering what the best core i5 is I was considering the 6600k but then saw the 7600k with a bit more performance but is there something better thats around the $250 range.

those are the highest end i5s, if you want something that's better you have to get a 6700k or a 7700k.

The cheapest i7 is more expensive than the best i5 (on the LGA1151 socket)

if yous search around you can find a 3rd or 4th gen i7 for that range.

not really a i7 3770 can be had for 180 to 230 usd that's much better than the newest i5 7600k in a lot of games.

doesnt matter the socket as much but i might just forget 250 and go with an i7 6700k

3770k or 4770k can be had for about the same price as a 6600k or 7700k. Go used. Will also save some money on the board as well.

Now is not a good time to buy a CPU.  You should wait to see Ryzen prices and test results.  Ryzen will most likely beat any i5 in price and performance.

Well but a non K i7 already have a cooler and you most likely end up getting not a Z170/Z270 board so it saves cost even more
