Hello LTT forum,

I've got an Intel Core e6500 overclocked from 2,93 to 3,3Ghz at 1,23750V stable. For GPU i have HD 4650 1gb also overclocked. I used to run BF3 at least 30fps, but over a few months i get average of 17fps. I'm running the same settings all the time. I checked my temps and proc goes up to 63 and gpu up to 73. CPU utilization is almost all the time 100% and GPU floats around 70-80%%. What do you think has happened? Is the processor degrading?

As long as you haven't raised the voltage past 1.365v, there shouldn't be any noticeable degradation. In addition, degradation wouldn't cause you to lose fps, it would cause your system to become unstable; your pc would be freezing, not slowing down. It also seems that your cpu is bottlenecking your graphics card quite a bit. I would suggest overclocking your cpu a little further, maybe 3.5GHz. Also, what motherboard do you have?

You probably aren't going to get to much more of an overclock with the G41 chipset, but try to raise the fsb as much as possible, it will directly translate to an in-game performance boost
