nvidia GPU without uninstalling AMD drivers

hi all i run a r9 380 and i got a 750ti for $20 just because i wanted to and i was wondering if i can just turn off my pc, unplug the amd card and put the 750ti in and will it work just fine?

no they have completely seperate drivers, after all one is NVIDIA and the other is AMD

i know but do i have to uninstall and reinstall new drivers

Not likely, Nvidia cards don't like AMD drivers. I don't see why you would replace a 380 with a 750Ti since the latter is considerably weaker.

yes otherwise you will get conflicting arguments from the computer

Yea, your OS will just pick up the new card and give it a temporary driver until you can hop on over to Nvidea's website to download the better official Nvidea driver (which you really should do. PS: the R9 380 outperforms the 750ti just so you know.

I don't know what everyone else is going on about, but my system has gone from a R9 280 to a gtx 470 to a gtx 770 2gb to a gtx 770 4gb to a gtx 1070 and always picked up the card fine.

The only time I have ever had a graphics card not work was when I tried to install a 6990 on a non cross-fire motherboard

so i can i swap my r9 380 out and put a 750 ti in and it'll work just fine? i dont need to do any driver stuff

Not to get into windows no. But you need to download the latest Nvidea drivers once you are in windows. Just go to the Nvidea website and download them. Only takes a few minutes.

you can swap the card without uninstalling the driver. i did that before without any problem.

Right when you install a new GPU without drivers window will automatically use a basic driver to display a picture so you can install your new drivers.  Just make sure you use DDU to uninstall your old drivers.

 Yes. But replacing a R9 380 with a 750Ti makes absolutely no sense.
