this is pagefile usage normal?

Not sure if this is normal but my pagefile.sys seems to constantly be at 90% usage or higher, 10gb gets used the second the pc starts, since yesterday it pushed the ceiling to 13gb, its been set to 12gb for the past four years im not sure why it would suddenly need more, the system is pretty much idle.

 

I understand the swap file system but just a little surprised by the usage which keeps increasing but doesnt decrease at all. 

 

Is there any way to see where it is all being used or some sort of test i can run to make sure its running properly.

check resource monitor, that seems to be a error, since its onlyshowing percentage, not usage in gb

the yellow text just above the ram percentage is the pagefile usage. 7.5gb of ram used and 13gb used in the page file. 

 

im not sure how to find the pagefile usage in resource monitor so im just gonna screenshot everything

Yep its a error in that monitor, your system is fine.
