So I was thinking about picking up a modmic to attach to my studio headphones to replace my current shitty mic. How is the audio quality from them? Are they a good value and/or quality? Are there any competitors that I should look at?

The Mod Mic 5 just came out

audio quality is about on par with the USB solutions like the Samson GO mic and Snowball

but I've heard some issues of frayed cables happening, I'd go desktop USB mic if possible, if you really want the headset options go for a mod mic

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Personally dont like the modmic since it sounds so bassy but i dont like desktop solutions either cause of mechanical keys (o-rings doesnt solve this).
The vmoda boompro isnt as bassy but is only compatible with a few headphones cause it replaces the cable.

My headphones are VModa so I think it would be compatible :D
