I have an old Iphone 5 that belonged to my mother and I want to factory reset it, but we dont have the password for the icloud account thats required for the phone to do a normal reset through the settings. Is there a different way? like holding down some of the buttons at the same time like an android?

you need the icloud password because it stops people nicking phones and jsut factory formatting them and having a free device! go through the forgotten password method. If your mum cant answer the questions then ring apple support.

well blame ones mother for not 1) having a password she remembers and 2) not having the answers to the security questions that are im place to reset said password ;)
