Hey guys,

I have a problem with my rig. Based on the way it behaves, I say its either the CPU or the motherboard.

So I was just playing BF1, then suddenly the image on my monitor freezes, the LEDs on my keyboard and mouse turn off. I turned it off by the on/off switch on the PSU. Then when I turn it back on, it doesn't post. I don't have an internal speaker so I don't know if it beeps or not. The only LEDs that turn on are the Hue+, the motherboard power LED and the ethernet LEDs on the back. The red CPU light does not turn on. It could be the CPU. It's delidded. Is it possible that when I put the IHS back on, I misaligned it and now the die cracked? I have a custom loop so taking the CPU out to check is pretty hard so that's why I'm asking here first. The specs are in my sig.

Thanks.

If the CPU light isn't turning on I doubt it's the CPU. It would probably be something with the board itself. Do you have another board that you could use to test it just in case? If it's hardware failure your gonna have to take stuff out eventually soooo...

Thank you for your answer. I don't have another board sadly, and I don't know anyone who has a 1151 board either. I will take it out soon to test. I hope its the board or the CPU because I was planning to upgrade to Ryzen.

Nevermind, turns out one of the RAM DIMMs is bad.
