Unlikely but if I have downloaded a video file with subtitles either integrated or as a separate file, when using VLC (or a blu-ray player) . . . . . pressing "V" brings up subtitles (if there are any) some of the time I see:

Instead of:
 
tVxH94U.png

 

Anyway to get the second picture instead of the first? Also convert files (like MKV) to a format a PS3 and or a Sony BDP S390 blu-ray player can read but keep subtitles?
