Hello all, I am ZadaGrims.

Am new to the forums but have been watching the Vids for a couple of years.

I have been out of the pc building for some time and the market has changed so much.

First pc was created with the help of my cousin.

did a upgrade in 2015 so it could play games and could work from home when needed (them sick days)

but with all of the new and upcoming new projects and line up I am at some lose.

***************************************************************************************************************************

I would like to ask for you help in a new pc for Work and play

Currently - if new pc is made will true into back server using bit sync and a rending pc for blender, Revit and etc.

i7-920(2009) no oc due to crashes at 3.6Ghz after rendering 3d files and gaming BDO

Corsair H110iGT (2015)

20G rams (2015) (16G new and one stick from 2009) I know not the best thing to due but Autocad Loves its RAM

gtx 970(2015) was gtx 260ish

850 SS201D (2015)

850W corsair PS (2016) One from 2009 killed in action.

2 TB raid 0 long storage.

asus 28" 4k display 60hrz (2016) (bestbuy)

asus 24" 1080p(2009)

asus Motherboard (2009)  P6t

********************************************************

Programs Used

Blender

Autocad (used most) newest version when they come out. (program uses only one core) 3d piping and buidling work. No True rendering. (bottleneck program)

blender - side work and learning to improve skill sets

Revit-relearning for new job options

Navisworks-

Photoshop

Not sure if a 8 core cpu would be worth it since Autocad only uses one core.

Gtx gpu since the quatros and out of the price range.

Price range 1.5k-2k  may be able to go up another 500 after tax's come back

***************************************************************************************************************************************************

Would like to to due two 4k displays (gaming in this would be nice but can down scale.) (have a 55 inc 4k tv samsung ks8000)

set up two pc displays on bottom and tv over head witch can moved to point down or to the bed/ setting area for tv use.

gpu 1080 (wait for 1080ti or the new amd ones (am able to wait a bit longer))

cpu not sure (7700k or wait for amd raizion or any other cpu out there)

Would like its to OC and be as quite as possible so Water cooling may be better then air.

and got to have them rgb for the night show haha.

***********************************************************************************************************

Sorry for the long read. Let me know if you need any more information.  Appreciate any hep

Thank you

Wait for AMD Ryzen, it has an 8c/16t 6900k equivalent processor that will hopefully be well priced

if you want something now I'd recommend more cores for 3d work, 6800k + x99 mobo + 1070

edit: for best single-core performance on the market, 7700k is what you need. or wait for Ryzen equiv.

idk

a) whats your budget

b) youre probably gonna have to downscale for 2 4k monitor gaming on 1 gpu

c) You are going to have to upgrade gpu, cpu and mobo if you want 4k 3d stuff and even 1440p 2 monitor gaming

so cpu, gpu and mobo.

A $1,500 to $2,500 max

B Gaming would only be on one display. 2nd display is for speeding up work (have to look at about 4 pdf at the same time and make sure all data is right.)

C Thinking of just building a new one and having 2nd for as a render farm and back up server.

Prices came out today the 8c 16t is around $600. I have had problems with amd gpus in the passed and never have tried the cpus.

Am willing to wait for the best. looking for a pc to last the next 5 year or so.

this just smells of wasted money..

firecuda is a waste of money as a second drive, expensive RAM, h100i isn't needed in a rig where reliability is key. also he needs singlecore performance for autocad, since it takes barely anything of the second or third cores.

beats intel's 6900k, which is $1000..

i'd say 7700k is perfect for autocad, since it has good single-threaded performance.

idk

Nice.

what if my budget was bigger would it be worth it? (my first pc in 2009 cost 1k and lasted 5 years.) would another 1k improve overall work (not gaming).

I would be able to put this under the company to get some tax back next year.

The workstation at work we are thinking of getting are around 4k.  would like to tell boss im working from home since pc is faster haha no jock. Get more done.

1080ti when it comes out?

and m.2 ssd i think they are called.
