So I accidentally bought a 990 Optiplex mobo from ebay and my cooler requires a 4pin CPU Fan header. That mobo only had a 5 pin one. I was thinking of just buying a new cheap mobo alltogether from that "e-word" site.

I found:

However, I cannot find where the CPU fan header connector is. I need to know if it's a 4 pin or 5 pin, thank you

may i just say, that's a very strange accident :P

I am even more than a idiot. I just bought this mobo but the 6 pin PSU it needs is proprietary as balls I heard. I would need a custom PSU. I asked the seller on e-word to cancel it.. Although they don't have to as my fault..(they havn't shipped it yet), but fuck fuck.

The Dell 990 optiplex thing is great with the PSU stuff however the fucking fan heads are 5 pin and I even melted the black stuff around them so I can try to put my 4 pin cooler master fan head on it but it still doesn't work.  I just am trying to find a cheap ass mobo to go with my i7 2600  i bought :(

it's not *that* proprietary, it's just not very coventional, the 6-pin is just 12 volt, and all the other things (PS_OK, PS_ON, etc) are handled trough a second header.

you can still buy those power supplies from HP just fine if you want, they're not exactly cheap tho (but they're surprisingly well made inside.)
