So I recently replaced my GTX H100i water cooler with a Dark Rock 3 air cooler (yes i tried an RMA, but thats not at all what this is about, and for the record, the Dark Rock 3 is performing almost the same as my H100i did)

Anyways, besides the old piece of sh*t failing, I replaced my old cooler with the air cooler because its much quieter. But now a new annoyance has arisen, my hard drive. My hard drive is louder than my fans (unless those front case fans are just really screwed up). And I would like my PC to be to be much closer to silent, the problem is that i dont have buckets of cash to buy a 1TB SSD with. Is there any way I could make my HDD quieter?

PS: As I was typing this an LED strip fell from the top of my PC for the 3rd time this month, duct tape is not a good adhesive for hot things evidently, any other suggestions?

You can buy rubber grommets and such if vibration is a cause of concern. Otherwise you can tell the OS to turn off the HDD if it's not being used, though this increases wear on it.

As for your LED strip, if you're keen on permanently attaching it, I'd say use Gorilla Glue or similar. Just make sure to hold the strip to the case or whatever for at least 30 seconds so the adhesive can "dig in".

I think it already has rubber thingys, but maybe no the stock ones that came with the hard drive cage would do better lol. I dont know if i want to turn it off while its not being used it it increases tear... But ill give it a shot, ill turn off all the other fans and moving things to see just how much noise its making. As for the LED's in not real found of gluing things to my case, maybe velcro would work. (but then my lazy ass has to venture out of my house to buy it, grrrrrr)
