Hi all, I'm working on compiling a parts list for my new PC, and I'm not sure which version of the 1070 I should get. I'm thinking either the Founders Edition, or the MSI one, with their TWIN FROZR VI cooler.

Here is my parts list (any changes/suggestions are welcome and appriciated!):

Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend founders edition( overpacked for what it is) and I wouldn't recommend be most expensive a certain brand can use free. Besides that, any gpu should work well, aim for the cheaper ones and overclock manually however.

Ok, thanks for your opinions. Do any of you have any suggestions/changes for my build? I would appreciate some outside input. Thanks!

It looks good. The MSI card would definitely fit your build more than the EVGA one i suggested. The only thing i would say, is maybe add more storage? The NZXT S340 Elite has 2 3.5" bays, yet you only have 1 2TB HDD. Personally, 2 TB wouldn't be enough for me. But, its your choice.

MSI 1070 Gaming X owner here, wouldn't trade it for anything. Its a beast, dead silent even at high load and chews up games for breakfast.

I like my 1070 Strix OC.

Fanless non-gaming is great.

I've got the same card and while I generally love it, I'd caution anyone considering it that the RGB LEDs tend to become quite purple if you try set to set them to white.

Get the cheapest one you can with 2 fans cooler, don't buy those "gaming" edition with factory overclocked chip, as you can achieve the same after 5 minutes spent in afterburner.

Also, you can also use custom fan curve in afterburner to tell the fans not to spin unless it's 50C or higher, so don't buy expensive card just because they can "smartly" control their fans...

I go little offtopic here.

1070, starts to enter the pricepoint where watercooling does not hurt the wallet somuch compared to the card cost. 1070 seems so powerful gpu that it might be valid gpu for a many years to come. Thou the 120hz 4k screen might be the next thing companies wants to push us to buy faster and faster gpus for.(i mean the screen from CES17 that Linus drooled on.) thou if you have recent predator screen, you might not be in hurry to upgrade any time soon.
Zotac had cards with custom waterblocks for custom tubes and Evga had with closedloop (AIO) watercooler setup, right?
