Please help!

My keyboard on my phone won't appear at all! I looked at settings and the keyboard settings was slightly transparent, with a check mark. I couldn't access it at all. I mean, I had access to change some things in the keyboard input, but that had no relevance at all.

 

I tried resetting my phone, but it didn't help at all.

 

My phone is an lg optimus l9 lg-p769

I think he meant "turn the phone off and on", not the keyboard.
