which exact motherboard do you have?

But the process is the same for most go to your motherboard support page > downloads > bios updates > download latest one put on a USB and follow the update procedure but then some will let you update the bios from within the bios it's self.

You go to the motherboard website and download the the latest bios. Updating the bios you will need to check the bios. Some motherboards do them differently. Some  you can just find the file from the bios and update and some you just plug a usb and it will search for the file itself

note: you need to do this with the SkyLake CPU installed

download the latest bios file from here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5589#bios

unplack the zip to an USB drive, preferably FAT32 formatted

reboot and at the POST screen press END to enter BIOS' own Q-Flash utility to update, point to the file on the USB drive

after BIOS update is complete and verified: shut down the system, remove power from the PSU, press the power button for 2+seconds to drain the caps, remove the old CPU, install the new one, put the power cord back in and power up

Several motherboards with H100MA in the name but you're going to guess and link him to a bios which could potentially brick his bios?

he said H110MA, I presume it's the H110M-A and not the H110M-A-D3, nor the H110M-A/m.2

if it's the Asus board and not the GigaByte, joke's on him

OK then buy the i5 7500 and sell your i3 6100 and its an even swap and you are ahead of the game.

Why not go with a i7, sell your i3 and your only out of pocket a little bit of cash.

Yeaaaa but for a few more pennies, you can have a i7 and be set with no need to upgrade in 10 or 15 years.

That's not at all true.  The gap between an i5 and i7 isn't even that big in terms of gaming performance anyway.

As for lasting 15 years, even a top of the line one wouldn't do that.  Besides, by then the current motherboards will probably be really out of date in terms of features.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!
