Why do we complain about graphics when we still play games like Pokemon or A link to the past? We need a real argument to explain why one game is better than another, or why another console is better than the opposing.

because we didnt know what 'graphics' where back then 16bit was all there was, no need to dream about stuff that woudnt be developed for another 14 years...

we did care about graphichs back then, that was about as good as it got, you could not add another game to your NES or SNES to make stuff smoother

Just play with your damn console and be happy. You dont have to ask us every day why this or that is better and why not.

 

For me personally: I like playing some retro games with "bad" graphics some time because they have to be like that. On the other hand, i wouldnt play Crysis3 with Monkey Island 1 graphics.

Its more about art style than graphics.  Take Angry Birds for example, it looks great for its art style.  You wouldn't think of the graphics in Angry Birds to be worse than BF4 though, because it is a different art style entirely.

cause those were made may years ago. if something like pokemon yellow came out today it would be awful but ill replay that over and over now only cause it brings back memories

To me graphics don't matter, as long as they don't try to make them look good. When a game like GTA, CoD, or Battlefield is made to look good, then is shown on a 720p screen, it looks like a mess. Pokemon looked fine up until Black/White, when they tried to improve the graphics, and displayed it on a 240p screen.
