i5 4590 + ? Next Upgrade

So I decided to Upgrade my EVGA GTX 950 FTW 2GB since I have been playing the Battlefield 4 & 1 again, but still I do frequently play E Sport Game I know that my GTX 950 is a Bottleneck when I Play BF1 but currently I have a chance to upgrade my Main Gaming Rig and Transfer this GTX 950 to my up coming HTPC 4K Build.

 

My Question is after I purchase my New GPU I play to purchase a Gaming Monitor so I have been searching to high and low about G-Sync and FreeSync I have tried both and really I cant even notice the Difference yes on G-Sync I can notice a little but I would not spend $200 to $300 just for the G-Sync so I have been eying my self to AMD Card and FreeSync Monitor.

 

What AMD RX 400 Series should I Purchase or should I wait for VEGA if my i5 4590 can handle it or not.

 

Currently Looking only at ASUS Brand looking at the RX 480 Strix OC.

 

Any Suggestion about this...

480 4GB > 1060 3GB

480 8GB = 1060 6GB and keeps improving because AMD cards are like a fine wine - improving with age.

 

G Sync panels are expensive because of Nvidia being Nvidia and requiring extra hardware for it.

FreeSync is cheaper because it only requires software and small hardware tweaks. 

 

Get a 480 8GB, it'll kick ass alongside a 4590. And you can use FreeSync.

Its most definitively not bottle necking the 950. Its not that powerful. But i would wait for vega or get a 1070.

I can say from experience that an i5 running GTA V on a powerful enough GPU will stutter at over 140-160fps.

 

Get an i7 if you can.

Depends on your goal for 60fps the RX 480 should be fine!

Except that it's not exactly bottlenecking the 950, the 950 is just not fast enough.. mediocre at release, still mediocre. 

I'd get a 480 > 1070, since I see bottleneck with a faster Haswell i5.

I dunno that depends on the game, if GTA 5 then for sure but if something less CPU demanding then it will work ,tough I advice waiting for Vega because then prices will decrease!

Isn't vega meant to be months away and not releasing with Ryzen?

VEGA is coming out in Q2 2017. Which means MANY months away.

Yes the 950 is not bottle necking but when I play BF1 FPS drop all over, a lot of people say the if you are going to purchase a 1070 you should pair it with a i7?

on BF 1 I want it to play smooth.

I have a 4670k and when I had a 770 (similar performance) my BF1 would drop frames like crazy. 

Now I've got a 1070 and it's 75fps locked. It's usually GPU performance and VRAM that BF1 loves. (since consoles have a 4gb/4gb split between system mem and vram)

I agree with this, some youtube clips prove this might happen depending on the games.

if Vega is going to be a GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 it might get my CPU to upgrade again and i don't plan to cause i always purchase my CPU with a Very Good Deal.

yes i notice this too. on BF1 i only wish i could get a steady 60fps i don't plan to push it over 100 cause i don't have the horse power to do so.

yes nena i had watch countless videos 480 and 1060 i and still think going AMD for Budget to Performance is Key.

I have a sapphire RX 480 4gb. An i5 won't be bottlenecked by any mid range GPU. I regret getting the 480 though. Its a good GPU and trades blows with the 1060 but what I didn't account was the fact that the 1060 plays the games I play much better. The games that are better on AMD GPUs tend to have no interest for me. 

 

If I was you I'd take that into consideration and get a 480,4gb or 1060 3gb. Don't think the 8/6 GB versions are worth the extra cost.
