Android USB volume too low?

I recently got a new phone (Moto z Play) and I have been trying to listen to headphones with a Fiio K1 DAC+Amp. Problem is, the volume is very low. I am using an OTG cable powered by a battery bank. On hibymusic, the sound is quiet, except when I turn up the gain, however it causes clipping. On Spotify the music plays in slowmo for some reason. Is there a way to tell the DAC/AMP to play louder?

No. You're probably limiting the volume somewhere in your phone volume settings.

On Android it's also an issue on some devices where the phone won't actually "tell" the OTG device what the proper max volume is, so you won't get as much volume as you would on say, an iphone.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)
