Help me cable manage please

Go to solution Solved by 19_blackie_73,

you could try to get rectengular adapters and run a power strip on the top of the table

Hi, I need some help. I'm a student in the UK and my accommodation has the weirdest placement of power outlets. My desk is stuck to the wall , even sealed with silicone on the sides. I have 8 power outlets directly above where the desk meets the wall. Cable management has been impossible. there is no place for my cables to go. My desk has a hole in the corner for cables, but it's unusable. I tried putting the excess cable in there, but it is a pain to manage when you want a little more slack in one cable. Also my laptop power brick wouldn't fit.

I can't wrap my head around how stupid this design is. Plugging something in makes the back 20 cm of the desk unusable unless i want to destroy the cable(given that i have a european plug for my laptop + adapter). They make it look like no big deal in the promo pictures, but in reality...

My desk has this exact same problem. The only solution i could think of is running cables on the wall somehow which i gave up on so my desk is littered with cables

Well what do you have that needs to be cable managed other that your laptop charger?  I have a PC, monitor, fan, power strip, phone charger and router all plugged into the rear panel power strip just like that one and all I can do is lay my cables along the back of the desk and deal with it.  But most of my stuff do have 90 degree plugs so my cables aren't sticking straight out of the wall.

I've got my laptop charger, headphones, mouse and cooler ()whose cable is tiny thought). what made me write this is that i'm planning to get a mechanical keyboard and I could not stand another cable.

I guess I'll have to do that, I hope I can run the power plug of the power strip through the hole in the desk along with all my cables. Thanks!

I don't see why you would need to get a keyboard when you already have one attached to your laptop but to each there own.  My only solution is to just deal because you can't really fix it until you rent a sweet house with some buddies and are able to have full control of your living space.  Or you could get velcro straps or something and use them to bundle up the cables so they aren't just loose everywhere.

The hype is about the keyboard. You can type faster on a non mech keyboard,  for what it's worth. Not scientificly proven by any means but by experience.
