GTA V keeps thinking the game is not installed, but it is.

geek on fleek

I have the retail version of gta v, not the steam version. I just updated to windows 10 and it worked fine, then something happened and it was just asking me to reinstall the game. So I did, When it was reinstalled i played it and when i was done i loaded it up again and it crashed. then the next time i opened it up it was asking me to reinstall it again. I'm so frustrated and I don't know what to do.

Could possibly it's the Windows 10 issue?

Did it say re-install due to an error or it couldn't find the directory?

That's definetly the reason as it's never happened before I updated. I'm just looking for a fix right now. I'm going to let it install again and see where it goes from there unless i find a solution that works

I started crashing and I verified game cache and it said that all the files were missing, But it's in the right directory which I installed it in.

Try reinstalling it one more time but in a different directory. Like maybe on another drive if you have another one.

I've had it installed under an SSD for about a month, no problems until now. I don't know where its installing right now, I took all the files from my directory and put them in a backup folder just incase it doesn't work, since it's already installed.

Going to let it install over night, if it doesn't work in the morning I'll wipe my drive of anything gta v and put it on my normal hdd.
