What to you mean? What things in what list? I'm asking if I need some other parts like to buy cables separately or things like that.

So you're building a complete new build? Okay, that makes sense :P

Your wording was a lil confusing...(" Here is what I have" sounds like you already have it)

You may need a mice, a keyboard, maybe speakers/headphones/headset ect. :P

For the actual build:

(cheapest without sacrificing performance)

Both systems have better CPUs, the SSD is a MLC SSD which will improve reliability, the RX480 performs more or less equal to the 1060 6GB in DX11 and better in DX12 but the important, deciding feature is freesync of the monitor :P

Hey guys this is Austin! I mean Wade.

My laptop is having some issues and I do not have anything else besides it. I'm looking to spend around $1000 +/- $100 for a build, the less the better since I'm broke college student. I will need the computer for some games but mostly for school work.

I do not need too much storage right now (TB for science) plus I can add HDD or SDD when I would be able to. Fast machine is kinda needed.

Here is what I'm looking to buy:    https://pcpartpicker.com/list/f9nkzM

                                                       https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nMyDhq

                                                       + Windows key (~$30)

1X8 RAM is for an upgrade until next paycheck. Most of the build is budget but with some good speed.

Can I spend less on something that is already in the list? Do I need additional items? If so, what are they?

I DO NOT need mice, keyboard, headphones, or speakers.

Also, would it be better for me to do?

1. Get another good laptop that would last me for rest of the college (next 3 years)

2. Get a desktop right now and when I can get some type writer like Chromebook since I need something while I'm on campus.

Great idea with buying Windows separately. Would only need to download Windows to flash drive.

What's wrong with the case?

OK I edited the parts list and added some more info. All in all $852 USD plus shipping and Windows key. That is great. @Mr.Meerkat Thank you! Will stay with 1060. Not in team Green or anything but I heard some bad things about AMD and personally had bad experience.

Do I need to add some cables? Don't want to get all the part and later end up in BestBuy to get some parts to put my build together.

You can get any ol' monitor in that case :P

Only picked that monitor because it has freesync...

Ermmm...you shouldn't need any other cables? I mean the monitor should at least come with a DVI cable or HDMI cable allowing you to connect the motherboard to the GPU, power cables are all there, can't think of anything :D

@Mr.Meerkat what about SDD cable? Do the parts come with it?

Motherboard comes with the data cable while the PSU has the power cable :)
