How to "multi-task"?

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

in some odd cases, a game can *capture* a controller, so when you set the game to borderless windowed, and use mouse & keyboard to use other windows, while the controller stays bound to the game.

this is kinda against the way a computer is "meant" to work, because in theory all inputs have to go to the active window.

I have my desktop built in a way the left is my desk with the monitor keyboard and mouse and to the right a 40inch TV. Normally I will use both displays for a movie/anime etc passing on the TV while using the the PC for gaming/work on the monitor, all good here just enable dual monitors through windows+p and done.

What happens is that I would like to be able to play a game like GTA V / The Witcher 3 / ACU etc... on the TV using a gamepad while at the same time being able to surf the internet/ chat on skype/discord and such using the monitor keyboard and mouse, the problem is that I can't do the two at the same time, since the game always requires to be the sole active screen, which isn't a problem when just watching a film/anime since it can play on passively.

However I would like to know how can I do the two things at once, Gaming on the TV with gamepad and having the "rest" of PC functioning on the monitor with the keyboard and mouse at the same time for say like if I have a friend over who wants to play a game while I do college work on the PC at the same time. How can it be done? Could anyone point out me a guide to setting this up?

I will give this a try hopefully it works out at least in a few games, it would certain be cool if there was some software to manage what input should function with what window or something of the sort.

I marked it as solved, and wanted to thank you, it worked like a charm in both The Witcher 3 and GTA V, after putting it not to pause when focus lost, nor kill audio, borderless window the game will run perfectly using the gamepad while I can fully use the rest of the pc with keyboard and mouse, it is a success!
