Hello guys,
Mate of mine is having some problems,
Whenever the rig is turned on you get a black screen and a very big cursor but the thing won't move.
I have already tried a working stick of memory, removing the GPU, removing the CMOS battery, unplugging drives one at a time and all at once and clearing the CMOS, would try to flash the BIOS but I can't get in there to do it no matter what I try.

RIG SPECS
AMD Athlon 860K
Gigabyte FM2+ A88X-D3H R3.0
8GB 1600Mhz
XFX R9 270X
EVGA 550W G2
Win 10
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

Are you able to boot into the BIOS/Boot manager at all?

Try to boot in safe mode.  The whole process you just went through would be a good troubleshoot if you aren't even able to access the bios.

Also, that motherboard does have a dual bios feature you can try if you're completely stuck.

Nope can't even get into the BIOS, even tried to get into the BIOS flasher same thing happened as before.

Only thing I haven't tried is a different PSU

The board does have a dual bios feature.  Try switching to the other profile.

It doesn't sound likely that it's the PSU.  You could give it a go but I'm betting the motherboard is just gone if you can't get into the bios at all.

This may sound very silly... How?

I think it's a physical switch labeled on the board itself, where you would switch from profile 1 to profile 2.  Haven't tried it myself.  Look up Gigabyte dual bios or in the Motherboard's manual.

No physical switch on the board, I have a funny feeling its going to be a new MB

This is what I got from a video.

Quote

1. Turn off computer (hold power button down) 2. Turn on computer and wait five seconds 3. Hold power button and wait five seconds again 4. Release the button and press it again. If done correctly, dualbios screen should appear

If that don't work, then yeah, new Mobo.
