Monitor Pickings

Remonix

you'd be getting over 100fps in most titles at 1080p and be getting arround 50-70 in 1440p with a GTX 1070 in my opinion since a monitor is something you keep for a while like I'm still using a old Emachines 720p VGA monitor on my spare PC in that I use in my room for web browsing and playing games when my office is cold, I would get the 1440p one since it would last a lot longer in terms of it being mainstream then a 1080p one and the cost of 1440p monitors have gone down quite a bit.

So if I happen to find say a 75hz 1440p monitor, would you recommend that or a 144hz 1080p monitor?

it really depends on what you would prefer and what types of games you play
fps games, fast paced games go 144hz
rpg games and story games (ones where refresh rate is not as important) 1440p
