So I got a new notebook for school... And I got a weird yet awesome idea I want to try it out.

Is there a way that I can get a external HDD. Load it with a bunch of different OS (Windows, Linux... Hackintosh for whatever stupid reason) and be able to just run whatever one I felt like using? Don't care if I have to go into BIOS and select the HDD (So the bootloader to choose which OS I want to use is on the external HDD itself not on the notebook). I was wondering if it was possible?

Why? Because I am a very bored person right now...

yep you can do that, but might as well run it in a vm.

I mean I could but I want to be able to run at its full speed, And its not just the notebook I want to be able to do it on I want it for any of the PC's I own or any new ones I get

doing it with any system will be a pain due to how bootloaders work and the drivers.

WIth a vm, you don't have much of a performance impact, only a 3% performance cut.

Hmmm, I thought it would be easy.

Also Hackintosh is not a very uhhhh... "Stable" system on a virtual machine or atleast on the one I made. Couldnt get past the login screen it was that bad :P
