Maybe some JBL LSR 305 or the 308 (not sure how much extra the 308 cost).

can a sub be added to these at somepoint

yes with no problem, but I don't think you would need a sub if you use them at close distance.

Hey guys so i been looking for speakers for my pc. Looking to spend $300-$400 US. Looking for a well round set for movies music and gaming.

Would like to have good bass for movies.

Thanks for any help

Personally I got pair of KRK Rokit 6. Very good bass and can easily add a sub into the system at a later date.
Very versatile as well loads of input options lots of knobs to change volumes.

I too was looking for a pair of speakers recently and chose to go with the Audioengine 2+ and paired it with the Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer. Now the speakers alone are great but are lacking somewhat in the low-end. Added the subwoofer and the speakers really showed their true potential. I like the setup a lot and music sounds great and so does gaming. Just remember when buying the subwoofer you need to buy the RCA cable because it does not come with one. All together this is around 350 dollars, so it fits your budget nicely.

I have the klipsch r-15Ms and the they sound great.  The bass is fine for near field listening. I assume that you want powered speakers, so the R-15PM is a good option.  They are on sale at Walmart for $300, which is $200 off the list price.
