Recommended Speakers Thread Needed!

I think we all agree we need a recommended speakers thread going. SSL got the recommended gear thread pinned but its only got headphones so I think we should all now decide some speakers and get @SSL to add it to the recommended gear.

These are the speakes im regularly seeing get recommended. Lets get a few discussions brewing up on what else is good.
JBL 305
Bronze 2
KRK rokits
Yamahas
Behringer Truths

The classic recommendations:

Audio engine A5+

Q acoustics 2020i (I think they released an updated version but they are much more expensive)

Klipsich promedia 2.1 (for cheap 2.1)

The wharfedale diamond series' are well reviewed for a reason, although not sure about availability outside the UK.

This is what I recall off the top of my head, will have a think of what I'd consider worth it.

For me to add them to the recommended thread, I need people to provide precise (not necessarily accurate in the absolute sense) of what the speakers sound like. A summary like "detailed with good bass and crisp highs" is not adequate. Links to reviews are fine.

Already approved:

  • Micca PB42X
  • JBL LSR305
  • JBL LSR308
  • Vanatoo Transparent One

Audio engine A5+

A5+ has always been overpriced, and really isn't worth grabbing.

I'd like to add the Kanto Yumi. They have a decent full range sound for a 5" speaker. What really blows them out of the water is the feature set for the price though. The powered version has AptX bluetooth, 2 optical inputs, 3.5mm and RCA in. They also have a sub out, which is good if you want a little more low end.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)
