http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2691#sp  - i found a really good deal for this and considering it has hdm it will be perfect for internet browsing / films and maybe if i do find a nice deal for GPU budget gaming pc also. I have a choice between Q9505 Q9550 QX9650  E5450 E5440 for CPU - can you guys tell me what will be the  best to act as a cpu and igpu?

@komar First of all, the Xeon E5450 and the Xeon 5440 aren't compatible with that motherboard since they require an LGA 771 socket while the motherboard you linked is an LGA 775. So, out of the remaining 3, I'd get the Q9550. :)

i have a 9550. good cpu.

being this old are you sure the board has any life left?

will it support new video? no, because the board is only supported by XP and Vista.

i wouldn't waste my money. I would buy an FM2 motherboard/apu/ram on the cheap and be miles ahead. plus you'll have onboard graphics you can play some games on.

Ok, I found the video and to be honest, I think it is quite risky to perform the mod (in my opinion) as you might (as in the video) accidentally slip and bend the pins in the socket and there goes your motherboard. :(

the guy has pictures of them running with those xeons so they are already modded dont worry about it ;)
