the only vent problem is that the mobo is inverted, opening panel is on the right side of the system (the non-standard side) so the card would be facing up

Not a too much of a problem as long as it has some space for ventilation.

If the card if facing up then it'll suck air from probably holes in the front or top and be fine wth venting

The 1050 ti would definitely bottleneck.  The 380 is older and pairs with the older cpu better.  Also a 1050 ti its around 130-140. A 1050 is like 110-120 and only has 2gb.

Sorry I was thinking of the 1050 but the ti is only 30 bucks more at 130

The 1050 ti, not the 1050.  The 1050 is cheaper and probably better (but only 2gb which should be fine)
