So I've been looking to get a new CPU cooler, and I think that the Hyper 212 X would be a good choice. I do have some questions, however.

First, I have a Cooler Master HAF 912 case, with an ASUS M5A97 R2.0, will it fit?

Second, I have a spare fan from a Cooler Master Hyper T4, and I wanted to know if I could use that on this cooler.

Lastly, could I mount this vertically (Perpendicular to the RAM slots)?

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

- look up the specs of the 212x (height clearance) and the depth of your case.

- i do not know if the t4 fan is compatible with the 212x

- pretty much all air cooling solutions will fit bit horizontally and vertically but i might be wrong on that one.

Alternatively, you could grab a Cryorig H7 if it's avaliable to you. Same tier cooler, more compact with ram clearance.

+ it looks wayyyyyy better IMO

Yes.  I agree.  The Hyper 212 is way outdated now.  Cryorig's coolers beat them in every way.

Redundant but yeah, go with the Cryorig. I've used both and the Hyper Evo 212 was like the go-to option a few years ago for price + performance but there are so many better options now.

It's an FX 8350, but that shouldn't matter.

AMD mounting is bit of issue. I haven't done that in ages, and never with aftermarket coolers. So I'm not sure, but looks like its only vertical mounting for that mobo.

It can fit either way.

The T4 and Hyper 212 Evo use the same BladeMaster stock fan. The 212x is an update from the 212 Evo with an improved fan.

Yes, you can attach any fan with standard 120mm mounting holes to the heatsink.
