Hi. I am having an issue where my recently built custom PC does not turn on.

The Story:  So a few days ago, I built my first PC and everything was going fine. I installed windows, all of my drivers, and some games. But three days ago, I installed rocket league and when i hit play, the game launched with no problem. Suddenly, my computer shut off right when I was at the main menu and will not turn on again. I am thinking the power supply (corsair cx 650m)  might have failed because a game overlay showing information about my cpu and gpu said that right when the game opened, the gpu frequency jumped to 1970 mhz (on a gtx 1070) in seconds when it was previously at idle around 200 mhz. Could it be the psu or does anybody have other ideas?        -Thanks

System Specs:  Intel Core I5 6600k, Cryorig h7 cooler, Msi Z170A gaming m3 motherboard, 16 gb ddr4 2400 ram,  samsung 850 evo 500gb ssd, Msi gtx 1070 quicksilver edition, NZXT s340 case, and Corsair CX650M 650 watt power supply running on Windows 10 64-bit.

That was supposed to happen, 200MHz when idling inorder to save power :)

Do you possibly have another PSU of sorts to test your system with? :D

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Unfortunately Mr.Meerkat, I do not have a spare power supply with me.

By the way, remember to quote when replying :)

Make sure all the cables are plugged in properly, especially the power button leads.

Try powering the system with only the motherboard and a single stick of RAM plug in.

Try resetting CMOS

Ermmmm...if it's a power supply issue, it may be a little difficult to make sure it's a PSU issue without another PSU :/

I checked the cables and they are fine, only on stick of ram did nothing and resetting CMOS again did nothing.

Which country are you from? I mean in the UK, we have fuses in the plugs where it's possible that the fuse has blown? :P

I am in the United States. I think you are right in that a fuse or something similar blew. If not, the psu most likely short circuited. I think i will just try to replace the psu or test a friend's psu. Anyways, thank you very much for the help!:)
