I'm working on additional written paper to go along with my master thesis. Now, the thesis had this same issue and I don't remember what fixed it (if anything). Problem is that sometimes when I add image, this happens:

Word.jpg

The next chapter spans over 4-6 pages. I use canvas for adding pics since I need to have as much control over pic/s and captions + anything else I need to add in Word.

I would recommend upgrading seeing as though it's ten years old.

Rather not since this works fine (except with pics), and I'd have to pay for new one. I'm also against subscription based software's where subscription doesn't bring actual benefits. And when I can't test it before to see if it helps or not.

(I could go to Uni's computers, but thats such hassle.)

Looks like Word turned all your text into a header, instead of regular paragraph style.

Try selecting the text  (CTRL+A) then apply the normal built-in paragraph style. Or with the text still selected, use CTRL+space to reformat to the applied style.

Hard to solve this over the forum without being able to mess with things and see what works.

Formatting in Word 2007 is a bit of a pain, what I usually did was copy everything to Notepad and then copy back to Word to remove all formatting, and then apply headers, sub-headers, caption options and whatnot when I'm done writing things, just to make sure everything is consistent.

Does you mum know you're here?

Neither of these worked. I will play around more tomorrow. Last time I think I fixed this by switching to some other wrapping. But now it bugs hard and I can't use Tight at all.

I might test how that works. Or just start with plain document and paste just text and then format everything again. Atm I'm making draft version for spellchecking by a friend.

@Gamessys, it seems that there is non-subscription Offices here too. I didn't think there was. Full version is €129, 365 for €69. And now that I checked this through, my Uni has option to get 365 for the remaining time of my studies. So I'll go for that and see if it works. I might get retail version later then.

I'm aware, I might even have it installed for troubleshooting purposes. But it lacks proper Finnish spellchecking (last I used), and it will take too much time to get comfortable with settings.

Update @VVoltor, @Gamessys

I got Office 2016 education edition and it seems to be so much better than 2007. There are some stuff which is moved and stuff that I eventually have to remove from quick options, but for the pics it works. So far.
