Hi all,

yesterday I accidentally activated the eyefinity over my Radeon tool, so I thought I give it a test in a game. So I started up BF1 and I must say... wow! What a great experience :D

It was hard to play because I only have 2 monitors (24") with each about 2-3cm thick frames, so there was a big gap in the middle of my huge window.

So to my questions:

-Eyefinity only makes sense if you have at least 3 Monitors right? Else you will always have a gap in the middle. Or are there specials monitors for eyefinity?

-How much system resources does this technology need? 2 Monitor = 2x GPU Power and 3 Monitor = 3x GPU Power?

-Is the sight in the game really much wider or does it only look like it?

Thanks in advance!

My Setup:
CPU: i7 4790 @3800 MHz, MB: MSI H87-G41, Grafik: Gigabyte GTX 1080TI, RAM: 2x 8GB DDR3 (1600), Storage: Samsung SSD 850 Evo

Yea, makes most sense with 3, gpu power will scale according to the total pixel count approximately, so 3 1080p screens would need 3/4ths the power as 4k, dual should be fine.

Yes it is wider if the game supports it, if you use ultra wide curved screens you can get a massive field of view

That makes sense... To be honest I did not check the resolution while playing BF1, I just clicked borderless full size and it gave me that resolution. I had 1080p before. I will check on that.

If both screens are 1080, then you will have a total resolution of 3840 x 1080 with 3 it will be 5760 x 1080. Your 290 might run 3 screens with reduced detail levels.

thanks for the detailed information!

I am also thinking about buying a 144hz monitor. What will happen if I use the new monitor as the main (middle) monitor and the other 2 60hz monitor left and right, will the hz of the main drop down to 60hz to match the others? :S

my guess is you could run it at 144hz, but the others will look laggy and slow compared to the middle, if you can, get all 3 the same monitor, so the response time, colors, and everything is the same.

Buying 3 is unfortunately not in budget :(
