Hey community,

Ill keep it short and sweet. I have an iBUYPOWER AM720FX Prebuilt Gaming Desktop, containing a 126W/115V power supply and a Nvidia GT730. Could I put a 1050Ti into this rig without having to worry about power issues? Sorry I can't spec the motherboard, I've lost the documentation on the computer and I don't know what kind of MOBO it is :$

Here are some other specs.

 GPU: GeForce GT 730, 2GB

CPU: AMD Fx-4300 Quad Core Processor

 RAM: 8GB DDR3

Nope. Wouldn't reccomend it without upgrading that PSU. Theres tons of comments saying:

Do not buy this rig if you want to play games unless you plan on updating the power supply and video card

I do recommend buying this but you should sooner or later change the graphics card and the power supply.

Do not buy this rig if you want to play games unless you plan on updating the power supply and video card

So yeah, would focus on getting that psu.

Ah Thanks. Tis a shame... any budget PSU you can recommend to me?

I assume you werent planning on upgrading so a pretty cheap one would be good.

heres a 400W one by EVGA that will support your upgrade.

That's not what I would recommend tbh.

EVGA 500B/430B would be better

WHY A PREBUILT

Companies force you to have to buy new parts, like a low wattage PSU. so since someone bought a prebuilt iBP and they don't know much about computers without doing reserach since they got a prebuilt (not always but most) they just assume to buy it from iBP again. bam. marketing.

Yeah, I would look up a power supply replacement tutorial unless you already know how to do it yourself. Make sure to update your drivers though.

Or should I get the 550W? I'm such a damn rookie at this it's making me cringe in my own seat lol.

Unless you plan on upgrading anything else, I would just stick with whats cheapest, the 1050 ti is only 75 watts, and the FX - 4300 is 100 Watts so you should be fine with 400 unless you plan on upgrading anything elseq
