128GB is really overkill, 32GB or 64GB should be fine (Well I still think 64GB is overkill but not as overkill as 128GB :P)

64GB 3000mhz+ RAM. I don't usually use up 32GB of ram, only if I use After Effects, rarely Photoshop or blender come near it. My other software is even fine when I had 16GB.

If you are editing 4K video, 64GB is a must (128GB a plus), as a big project will eat that up quickly. If not, then 32GB is enough.

When it comes to game creation, then I will say it depends on the game, but 64GB should be enough or 128GB if you use a lot of 2K+ textures.

So we need more info before we can determine what is "overkill".

When video editing, so is it useful to use several drives to split the load (1 for files, 1 for program files and 1 for rendering). Yes, its possible to max out a SSD when working with lots of files or 1 big one. Same for game creation I guess.
