Will DP-to-HDMI support 1440p?

algro

I have 2 monitors with hdmi ports and only one DP, which i use to game.

I plan to use these monitors with a laptop dock to do my job on, but the dock only has DVI and a displayport.

Both of my displayports are in use, so that leaves me with a DP-to-HDMI adapter and DVI cable. Dual-Link DVI supports 2k, but I don't know if DP adapters would

I would just avoid using VGA if you have other options available. DP to HDMI would work fine.

EDIT: For 1440p, you'd need to make sure the adaptor is HDMI 2.0, which may need to be active (I'm not sure on that). Also, DL DVI would work.

hdmi 1.4 should do 1440p @ 60hz but not much higher.  I'm not sure about adapters specifically though

Erm, HDMI 1.4a can handle 1440p at 60hz no problem, there's no need for HDMI 2.0.  I have an Asus PB278Q on a R9 390X, both of which have 1.4a, they're doing 1440p@60 no problem.  On paper, 1440p@72hz is possible on HDMI 1.4a
