Gaming PC Build

Go to solution Solved by Ashiella,

Welcome to the forum. Yeah, all of them will work together no prob. But Imo I'd go used. Better pricetoperfomance..

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum. I have been wanting to build a Gaming PC for quite some time now. When I first planned to build one I was going to use Linus' $1000 build from the Holiday Buying Guide. After time I pretty much changed every part in that build. I plan on using this with an ultra wide monitor and possibly a 1440p monitor if I change my mind. This is what I came up with and have tried my best to make sure parts are compatible but could use the extra insurance that everything would work together and thanks for the help. :)

Just go used, I got an x79 server board for 70$ and an e5 1650 v1 for 80$, used market is pretty. But IMO, 4c 4t ain't enough anymore.

Could be worth waiting a month or 2 for Ryzen

Such an old Xeon will show it's age in games.

I've tested the difference on an I5 6600k, using it on stock, overclocked, and underclocked to similar single-core, between all 3 it's around a 10 frame difference at stock it was at 200 fps

I don't need a HDD seeing as I have a few and I chose the Asus MoBo because of the M.2 support.

Try games like GTA V, Witcher 3, BF1/4 if you have them.

I have GTA 5, Witcher 3, and BF1, The difference scales very similarly, in DX12 the 6c12t helps allot. GTA 5, the performance is around a 7-10fps drop (Usually around 85fps) witcher 3 is around a 4-5 fps drop, BF 1 has a 12-15 fps drop unless its on DX12, then its the same amount but a gain.

In that case you can remove the hdd for the gigabyte x150-plus ws, it does support m.2.
